Just a few details I thought may be helpful as you are making your cake decisions/plans. This also serves to answer any potential questions you may have along the way. However, if I fail to answer any of your questions please feel free to contact me.
ABOUT THE CAKE ITSELF:
All Sales Final - Every cake is made with great care and attention to detail to make sure you have the highest quality cake that meets your satisfaction. Therefore all deposits and payments made to The Sugar Coated Cottage are non refundable. So please be certain when you book with us.
Cake orders start at a minimum of $60.
All cakes, fillings and buttercream are made from scratch.
All cakes are 4 layers of cake and 3 layers of filling.
At this time I do not make sheet cakes, sculpted cakes or fondant covered cakes (though I will use fondant to make decorations with).
Any of the cakes you see on this site can be recreated. If you have a design idea in mind or specific color palette we can also make a custom cake designed just for you.
Flavors - flavors change seasonally. We do however always have double vanilla bean, double chocolate and lemon/raspberry.
Allergy statement: Menu items may contain or come into contact with WHEAT, EGGS, PEANUTS, TREE NUTS, and MILK.
6" cake - 10 slices/20 party portions
8" cake - 16 slices/40 party portions
10" cake - 24 slices/60 party portions
See cutting guide at bottom of page. This will give you an idea on serving size for each cake.
Cakes are made to order.
Cakes are scheduled on a first come first serve basis. Though we try to accommodate everyone we do occasionally hit our max. It is best to schedule plenty in advance.
Celebration cakes should ideally be ordered 2 weeks prior or more to the event.
Wedding cakes should ideally be ordered 12 weeks prior or more to the event.
Though we recommend advanced ordering we also understand that sometimes that's not possible. With shorter notice than recommended above we will try our hardest to accommodate you but understand based on other orders/commitments this is not always possible.
Payment is what we use to secure your order and date.
Full payment is due at the time the cake is ordered for orders that are $200.00 and under.
For orders over $200.00 that are placed 8 weeks (or more) prior to the event a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required when order is placed to hold the date. Final payment of balance will be due 2 weeks prior to event date. If ordering less than 2 weeks from date of event full payment is due.
Pick up is available for smaller cakes.
For larger cakes, or if you want a smaller cake delivered, there will be an additional fee. We will let you know the fee once know the location of where the cake is being delivered to. Delivery fees are calculated per mile based on round trip.
